Lights Off Water

Revealing a deep-rooted Catalonian literary tradition long suppressed by the Spanish government during Franco’s regime, this remarkable collection of 25 poems illustrates how Catalan poetry has blossomed in the past quarter-century. The pieces, each by a different poet, were written between 1978 and 2002 and offer an insightful look into this period of abrupt change.

Anna Crowe is a translator and poet whose published collections include Skating Out of the House. She is the artistic director of Stanza, Scotland's poetry festival. Iolanda Pelegrí is a literary translator who specializes in Catalan literature at the Institute of Catalan Letters.
