Author Biography

John McAuliffe is an Irish poet whose collections include, most recently, The Kabul Olympics (Gallery Press) and his versions of the Bosnian poet Igor Klikovac, Stockholm Syndrome (Smith|Doorstop). He is also an editor of the magazine PN Review, Associate Publisher at Carcanet, and Professor of Poetry at the University of Manchester's Centre for New Writing. In 1969 Michael Schmidt was a founder of Carcanet Press, where he remains Editorial Director and has been associated with all eight New Poetries anthologies. He is also an editor of the magazine PN Review, a poet, literary historian, and teacher.
