Overview

A provocative reimagining of Catullus for the modern age. Isobel Williams's Catullus: Shibari Carmina offers a daring translation of the late Roman poet through the lens of Japanese rope bondage. This collection blends classical themes of love, desire, and betrayal with the eroticism and power dynamics of shibari, creating a unique and thought-provoking reading experience.

Williams's inventive translations capture the humor and sensuality of Catullus's original poems while exploring new dimensions of meaning through the framework of shibari. This collection is for readers who appreciate classical literature, erotic poetry, and the art of translation. Discover a fresh perspective on timeless themes in this bold and inventive work.
